Recently I took a short vacation, in scheduled and it took place instead of a stream. It was an outing that I did not know that I needed. And I am grateful.Continue reading “The one day Vacation”
The title says it all right? As Microsoft closes its doors on Mixer another door opens for game streaming. So what do I mean, well, facebook gaming is becoming a thing with some serious clout behind it. As we move further into the future, Facebook as a bigger and bigger foothold on our data, including the types of streamers, and streams, we watch and enjoy. Mixer streamers found out today via a tweet that their careers have officially ended.
So why not make that transition to Facebook Gaming and take advantage of all your family, and friends getting notified when you go live? Instant following, instant groups, instant clout. This is the move that Mixer has taken by partnering with Facebook and closing its doors and pushing people over to Facebook gaming.
Of course that doesn’t mean you have to change to Facebook gaming, there are a lot of other options out there for streaming. Officially I have streamed on about 6 platforms, I have tried different sites, and read different rules/policies of different streaming services. Each service has its own ups and downs, so what defines you as a streamer, isn’t necessarily the platform, but what you can achieve within the terms of service on that platform. I’ll lay it out for you.
- Dlive – http://www.dlive.tv | Dlive is a great alternative to facebook gaming, twitch, and now defunct mixer. This site pays you out via crypto, the TRON crypto to be exact. If you do not know what that is, it is the crypto from Bittorrent. (That is a HUGE deal). And you can make money right away, unlike over on twitch, where you need to be an affiliate first. This is a good site.
- Trove – http://www.trove.live | This is an up and coming streaming site, it works a lot like any other site, the metric behind this site is the fact that it is small, so your growth on the site can be quick. Establishing yourself now while the service is still pretty small will allow you to take advantage of a growing userbase, that will grow with you.
- Plexstorm – http://www.plexstorm.com | PlexStorm is an up and coming streaming site as well, but unlike other streaming sites, this site has an emphasis on the ability to stream adult content. So you, as the end-point streamer, don’t have to worry about covering up, or not wearing skimpy clothes. If you wanna be a ‘titty streamer’, then by god, this is the service for you. If you wanna play those adult anime sex games, you can. No filters, no censorship. Only caveat is the 18+ models notice. You have to be 18 and over to use this site as it does contain nudity, sexuality, etc. Most of the streamers on here are amature porn stars in the making. Or at least they want to be. So this could be a mixed bag.
- Twitch – http://www.twitch.tv | Twitch is so well known I feel as if I do not need to go into it. But this service is probably the best service to play and stream on. The growth can be slow, depending how you play your games, what demographic you are targetting with your streams, how you stream, what time you stream, your language. It all plays a very large effect on your ability to grow on this site. But this is the site that pretty much started it all (formally Justin.tv). Once you hit 50 followers here, you can be an affiliate, and make money, get subs, and start your brand. Twitch is owned by Amazon and this allows you to get ‘twitch prime’ subscribers, which is basically a tier 1 sub, at half the payout for you.
- Periscope TV – http://www.pscp.tv | Periscope TV is Twitters response to online streaming sites. I am not confident in how its payout works, but I see more and more people using this service lately, and I plan on giving it a try to verify exactly how its partnerships work if any.
For those who watch streams on Mixer, whether it be built into the community tab on their Xbox, or the Xbox tab on their Xbox, or in windows, on their phone, this will be a trying time coming up as to where they will find their next bastion of entertainment. But they have to not look any further than Twitch, Dlive, Trove, Plexstorm, or Periscope TV. There are plenty of other streaming sites out there, but these ones here are the names on peoples tongues.
For the big names of Mixer, Shroud, and Ninja, they are now free agents, are are both looking at what they are going to do next.
Twitch took to twitter to extend a hand to those from Mixer whom are finding themselves without a home. I have a feeling, that a majority of those whom are finding themselves transient at this time, will find their new homes at Twitch.
There is a flurry of articles that have been thrown across the internet, streamers are weighing in on the ‘death’ of Mixer, and the future of gaming on Facebook Gaming. Some people have valid reasons to avoid streaming on Facebook, mostly being that facebook makes their money by selling your data to 3rd parties, such as advertisers. Those advertisers knowing the streamers, and streams you like, turn around and find ways to advertise content and what-not to you. So obviously this is something people take seriously. And this helps make the decision of where to go next, a very trying one.
I have watched my friends bounce back and forth between platforms, hell, even I have done it. (twitch.tv/simmydizzle) but that is because I am never happy and I am always looking for a the next thing. But I still made a home out of twitch, I am an Affiliate, and I am growing.
I would expect anyone who transfers from Mixer to Twitch to grow, and grow fast as their fanbase/userbase is also without that home, and they will typically follow their streamers to their new home. So wherever they end up, they will be fine.
So what does this mean for people already established on existing services other than Mixer? Well, it means we can expect an influx of new people, new streamers, new viewers, to our playforms. We can expect that if big-names from Mixer show up, we might see a dip in our own personal viewership as people who were watching us on our platform, and refused to follow those streamers to other platforms when they left, may now find themselves watching the big names over watching us little guys.
It means we will have to try harder to establish ourselves against an onslaught of ‘new’ people on our platforms. But to be fair, this is what it is like to stream. There is a certain ebb and flow to it. Now is the time to greet those new (or returning) streamers with open arms, make them feel welcome on our platforms, and focus on a future together with them.
And if you’ve made it this far and you’ve seen my link for my twitch channel twice, then beware, it’ll pop up at least one more time. Because here I sign off, and leave another link below.
Feel free to stop by my channel over on twitch, give me a follow, and see what I am doing next. I would love to see you all there.
I am a fan of video game streaming, some people often ask, why would you watch someone else play a video game, thats dumb… etc etc. I usually return with a comment about them watching sports, and how they should play instead of watching… Usually shuts them up pretty quickly.
And that leads in to this streamer review.
He is a family man, with kids and a wife that has taken up the moniker of Mrs.Boomer, who also streams over on DLive. The family element of his stream is part of the attraction here. Obviously you have to ask why this is a good thing, at least for me. Well I am happy to see a whole family be involved in the streaming world. This is why streaming is so unique, because a person with a family, can be successful doing something they truly love, with the people they love and it works out beautifully.
I have stopped in multiple times on his stream and told jokes, shared crazy gifs on his chat, talked shop, and he has returned by shouting me out on twitter, and drawn more people to my channel as well. You can see that the community on DLive is self-supporting, and at the heart of it, is this fine gentleman. Not once have I asked for anything from him, I have just watched and enjoyed his stream. Even laughed when his kids came on stream to ask him for things. No pause button, just watched him go right to town with his kids, no fear of his character dying, nothing, his family came first and that made my heart sing.
Being a part of that family element is amazing, because the other day, over on twitch we all got to see the exact opposite of what an amazing parent would do. I won’t go into many details here, but a woman in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, was arrested for abusing her child on stream when she was interrupted playing a popular video game.
This is a real difference in gaming, parenting, and so-on. This is the reason why I am a fan of Boomer, he plays, interacts, and is clearly a great parent becuase he doesn’t let his stream, video games, anything get in the way of his family life, his children, his wife. And that makes him worth the watch, if not for the games, for the obvious love this man has for his family, it is elating to see.
If you haven’t given boomer a chance, I suggest you head on over to his channel on DLive and watch. It is good to see someone who shares good wholesome family values stream their obvious downtime and be happy doing it, even if there is interruptions.
- 1 Jan 2020 – Edited to reflect new name-change. Boomer.TV is now Boomer_Nation
I write this today because I have been engrossed in a legal battle for months now over the custody and mobility of my son Kieran. This has been a very trying time on myself, my son, and my family.
This all started back in around March 2019, when I asked my ex for permission to move with my son (who was in my care) across the country as my career requires me to move. To which she agreed.
I believed that this was all good and I could move, but things were not all as they seemed on the surface. Less than a month from me being able to move with my son, I was summoned to court on an emergency basis and I was accussed of attempting to leave without permission, that I was ‘kidnapping’ my child, etc. Mind you, I hadn’t even left yet, nor did I have a time to leave.
Court proceeded and over a series of months, and grueling, emotional battles I was able to not only prove what I had claimed, but I learned a lot more along the way. My son, who has been displaced since August, living with his grandparents as the Judge did not see fit for my ex-wife to have my son on a full-time basis, gets to move to me in January 2020.
What I told the courts was true, polygraph me, its true, I make a career out of being honest, being truthful, being trustworthy, the accusations against me were simply lies and it hurt me, it hurt me deep. But my faith in the court system has been renewed as it worked out. I have so much evidence to defent myself and my story that you simply would not believe. Perhaps one-day I will write a book about this, because this has simply been hell.. But I digress….
This however is a bittersweet victory, as I did not want to bring up my ex’s history, delve into her mental health issues, or her history with child protective services, which I had a small understanding of. And now I have a lot bigger picture. I did not want to hurt my ex by bringing all this up in court. Even after everything I still have compassion for this woman, and even with the win, I will still work with her to raise our child.
He deserves the best of both parents, and I am the best fit for him. His mother has a lot of problems and I wish her well. I want her to focus on herself and get well, I want her to improve her life, get a career, change the way she lives. Be self supportive, she is capable, so I want her to actually show that drive and be the best she can be.
I harbour no ill-will to my ex, and as such I hope she will be a proactive and positive role in Kierans life going forward.
But back to the point, Kieran gets to join me in early 2020, I have to register him in school, take care of all the normal parent things, get his room all sorted out. God, there is so much to do, so little time, but I am ready to hold his hands, face, dance with him, sing with him, play, my body is ready for this. It will be an exciting time in my house in January 2020. He will finish up one final week of school in January, allowing him time to say good-bye to his friends, teachers, etc, before he boards a plane with my Dad (his grandpa, obviously) and fly across the country.
So what will we do when he gets here, well, obviously he will get to spend time with his Brother Aiden, a boy he has only ever met once, literally a year ago. See my boys have lived across the country from each other their entire lives, my eldest being 12, and my youngest being 6. This allows me to bring my boys together, and completing my family.
There will be a lot of exciting times to come, much like the pictures below depict. We always had fun, always played, always. But for proof of fun, here we go on fun to come based on fun we had!
Its funny there are so many more good times I could post here, pictures upon pictures, upon pictures. We have had amazing times, Kieran and I, and we will continue to do so, a few provinces from where we had them last time. But our happiness will continue, a bright future will be had for my son. And for the years to come we will be happy!
I would like to thank everyone who knew about this and who has supported me, I would like to thank my Dad and step-mom for taking my son in when I had to move and leave my son behind due to the courts. I would like to thank my Girlfriend for her unwavering support of me during this time and putting up with all my hardships.
I would like to thank so many more, my work, my friends, the courts, and lawyers for seeing things my way, and having my back and ensuring my son would have the opportunity to have this bright future.
I love you all! Thank you so much!
It is not 2020 yet, but I am ready for this bright future to begin! If I don’t post again before the new-year, have a Merry Christmas, have a Happy New-Year. If you are wondering where I am, I am at home, preparing to have one more happy face in my house!
A long, long time ago, I had a website, I was promoting a text based online video game called CombatMUD. (Source will be released on here soon, or at least the github link will be provided) However, once I shared my site on facebook, twitter, pintrest, etc, all the social media’s, my friends and family thought it would be good to click the ads for me, ya know, to boost income. Obviously, this resulted in my account being blocked by Google.
It has been many years since this incident occurred but Google will not turn over on their decision despite my pleas to get my AdSense account back. And to be honest, I completely understand their reasoning behind this. Ad boosting (clicking) for the sake of making money for someone is bad, as it does not result in those ads being meaningful. So basically, while my family and friends were trying to help, in-fact, they had done me dirty.
Recently, I attempted to get the account unlocked, I followed all their directions, populated all the fields, apologized for what was done. But I was still denied.
AdSense Denial EmailThanks for the additional information provided in your appeal, we
appreciate your continued interest in the AdSense program. After thoroughly
reviewing your account data and taking your feedback into consideration,
our specialists have confirmed that we’re unable to reinstate your AdSense
I somehow feel as if this denial from there is a cut-and-paste reply or an automated decision. This denial was crushing, I was hoping that we could move past this incident and allow me to enjoy a strong and prosperous future within the internet space.
So how can I progress, knowing Google will not allow ads? Well, for one, I signed up for WordAds from WordPress. Which is already serving ads on my site. Now I know what you’re thinking, this guy wants money, hell yes I do. But that is besides the point. I want the product I serve to mean something, and the time and effort I put into it, I want it to reflect in a positive revenue stream. Additionally I am looking at alternatives to AdSense, sadly there isn’t much out there that doesn’t do something negative or highjack mouse clicks and what-not. I don’t want that stuff, I want, true, honest, ads, that will be relevant to my end-users.
I have setup a donation/subscribe page as well, any collected funds here directly effects my ability to continue to work on this site, improve the content, more stories, poems, news, fitness posts, gaming reviews/etc. I love writing, sure my grammar isn’t the best at times, but when I get in a flow I just roll with it. I am sure there are those reading who know exactly what I mean by this.
Mind you, donations are completely optional, subscriptions are completely optional, I will continue to post content, even if nobody is looking. But these will help me find the time to actually work towards posting more often.
This is not a plea for your clicks or to subscribe though, not at all, in fact, I discourage clicking the ads unless you find something meaningful for yourself to actually find a desite to click on. And as for subscribing or donating, well, I appreciate all efforts made, they are not required. But they help.
SimmyDizzle is a hard working man, with the intent to retire from his go-no-where job, after 14+ years of loyal dedicated service, the man has learned a few things and has decided that his time is best spent elsewhere, persuing what he loves, this website is a stepping stone to that goal; and it is a journey that I welcome you all to join me on.
At the hayday for my other website, I seen an average of 200$ a month in ad revenue from non-google sources, which was great, I switched to Google AdSense because of its raw power and the reach that is Google. But still, nearly 8 years later, I experience a block because family tried to help me out. As such, I will forever be stuck using alternatives to Google. And that hurts.
With that said, a word of caution to you, if you use Google AdSense, if you notice an abnormal amount of clicks for your site, report it to google immediately, full network logs, ip addresses, etc, anything that seems suspicious, or else you will end up like me, handsome and without AdSense.
