Simply put, this game has quite a different feeling, but it is at heart, very familiar and well put together. This has caught me off guard, but in a good way.

This game is a lot more difficult than what I would of expected, however the developers provided difficulty settings, so perhaps I selected too high of a setting. But some boss battles have had me struggling, which gives me reason to grind out some levels of materia (which yes, is still here, and is as beautiful as Aerith, and as flawless as Tifa, both my senpais).
Combat requires you to be quick fingered to rapidly move through and do things, like issue commands for the other characters, to use spells and what-not. Final Fantasy 13’s stagger system has came back in full swing, so expect to be working towards staggering monsters to deal more damage. Aiming for their weaknesses is vitally important. So equipping the right materia before a boss battle can make a world of difference in how you come out the other end of that fight.
